Muskegon County is home to 27 miles of Lake Michigan waterfront, over 20 inland lakes, and more than 400 miles of rivers.
Impaired Water Bodies
For the water bodies listed as impaired in the National Water Quality Inventory, the top three pollutants causing problems are dirt, bacteria, and nutrients; all of which can be reduced by making simple changes in everyday actions of people living in local communities.
